Mark Sarro is a financial economist and an experienced business, litigation, and policy consultant. He specializes in developing and applying state of the art financial models to analyze business practices, cash flows, economic incentives, public policies, and valuation. He works as an economic consultant and/or expert to attorneys, entrepreneurs, businesses, and policy makers. His clients include individuals and small businesses, as well as state and federal government agencies, global corporations and major law firms. "I get the call when someone needs to make a decision based on a complex economic analysis. That may be a small business owner developing an operating plan, an investment group analyzing a potential target, a business doing financial analysis, or an attorney looking for objective expert testimony. Every client and case is different; the common thread is the need to focus on the right numbers and to get the numbers right." Mark specializes in creating customized financial models and litigation-quality expert reports. He is called on most frequently to analyze financial information in a range of business, litigation, and policy contexts including: accounting cases, acquisitions, asset/business valuations, bankruptcies and restructurings, capital markets, contracts, corporate control, financial reporting, intellectual property, and securities. This work spans numerous industries, from old-economy manufacturing firms to ecommerce companies. Much of this work has focused on securities litigation, wireless telecommunications, and mutual funds. Mark worked for more than ten years as an economic consultant with international consulting firms in the Boston area. He has been a senior consultant at Putnam Hayes and Bartlett and The Brattle Group. Later, he spent over four years as a principal at LECG LLC, where he was an Office Director for the firm's Cambridge, Massachusetts office and managed the finance practice within that office. In 2007, Mark spun his practice out of LECG to work as an independent consultant and expert. "Having worked in economic consulting for more than ten years, I have built a strong understanding of business consulting and the litigation process. I also built a strong network of academic and industry contacts. Working independently gives me the flexibility to field the right team for each project by partnering with the right people, regardless of their affiliations. Based on my long-standing working relationships with top experts and skilled analysts, I can put together world-class project teams which can work with the degree of independence or coordination each project requires." Mark holds a Ph.D. in Economics from Boston College, where he specialized in public finance and monetary economics, researched banking and public policy issues, and taught courses in micro- and macroeconomics. He also holds a BA in Economics from Fairfield University, magna cum laude, with a minor in Politics. |
